StoreMedia is an easy solution to upload, share, distribute, and podcast your lectures and other media files on the web. If you are compressing video for web delivery in a streaming or downloadable media file format, you can use your browser to publish those files to MSU’s Helix-based media server. StoreMedia enables do-it-yourself publishing of audio/video materials to the web.
On March 12, 2009 vuDAT updated StoreMedia to provide additional benefits to media publishers. In addition ATS updated the Helix server used to serve your files to consumers, so your listeners and viewers should experience improved performance.
Content Packages StoreMedia now supports the upload of multi-file content packages, such as those created by Camtasia Studio or Adobe Breeze Presenter, which include an HTML wrapper with navigation and search. After you upload your content package in ZIP format, storemedia will unpack it and provide a link you can paste into ANGEL or other websites.
Delegate Full Control Those of you wishing to share full control of some of your folders with others can now setup sharing permissions that enable specific other people to access your folders with the same abilties you have. This is especially helpful for faculty who want Teaching Assistants to manage folder access.
Authorize Students to StoreMedia Faculty, Staff, and Teaching Assistants can now authorize students who would not ordinarily have access to storemedia to one of their shared folders. The students will not get a home directory of their own, but will be able to use any folders shared with them. This is especially helpful to anyone using storemedia who employs students to help them.
